Dr. Edwin P. Arnold joined the faculty of Grove City College as Director of Bands in the fall of 1975.  In 1981, Dr. Amold was appointed Chair of the Department of Music and Fine Arts. During his tenure as Director of Bands and as Department Chair at Grove City College, he also held several senior administrative positions that include serving as Assistant Dean of the College, Executive Assistant to the President, Vice President of External Affairs, and administrative liaison to the Commission on Higher Education. At present Dr. Arnold also serves as Director of the J. Howard Pew Fine Arts Center.

The Grove City College Bands, under Dr. Amold's leadership, have earned a reputation for outstanding musical performances. The 200 member Grove City College Wolverine Marching Band is called upon to serve as an honor band for many regional marching band festivals, parades and special guest appearances.  In 1997 it was the featured college band on the "Boardwalk" at the Miss America Parade in Atlantic City and in 2001 performed guest appearances at Walt Disney World.  The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Concert Band perform music of the highest academic caliber. Under Dr. Arnold's leadership, the symphonic band was recognized and invited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Universities to serve as the convocation band to musically represent the 500 member institutions of the Commission on Higher Education for their 75th Anniversary convocation ceremonies in Philadelphia.   The college Jazz Ensemble, one of four jazz bands at the college, has given special performances in Washington DC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Charlotte, Tampa, West Palm Beach, Orlando and Walt Disney World.  It provided music for the Inaugural Ball of PA former Governor Tom Ridge.  Dr. Arnold serves as recording conductor with the Grove City College Marching Band in the preparation of new music demonstration Compact Discs for Jalen Publishing Company . 

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Amold received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education at Geneva College, a Master of Music Education from Duquesne University and a Doctorate from the University of Houston where he served on the band directing staff.   Prior to his appointment at Grove City College, Dr. Arnold developed a resume of teaching experience at various levels in the public schools and at the state college and university level.

Dr. Amold has has been the recipient of numerous awards including those from the Commission on Higher Education, the PA Music Educators Citation of Excellence Award, the Grove City College campus community award for service to the community and was the featured subject in an article entitled "A Success Story" in the Journal of the National Band Association.
Dr. Arnold was elected to membership in the prestigious American Bandmasters Association in 1995.  He holds professional membership in the National Band Association, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the College Band Directors National Association, and Phi Beta Mu. He is past president of the PA Collegiate Bandmasters Association, and currently serves as executive secretary -treasurer of that organization. Dr. Arnold is in demand as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator at high schools,colleges, and band festivals, throughout the Eastern United States, Texas, and Canada.
