"Festival Band"

For the 5th annual Three Rivers Community Band Festival on May 3, 2008, a new and exciting concept that allowed a larger number of area musicians to participate in the festival was premiered. One of the 5 bands at the Festival was the Festival Band comprised of area Community Band Musicians. Our goals were to allow more community musicians in our area participate in the festival and to facillitate comradery among the musicians.

Over 60 musicians from Southwestern PA and representing over 20 community bands came together that day for the very first Three Rivers Community Band Festival "Festival Band" under the direction of guest conductor Max Gonano, Director of Bands at California University of Pennsylvania. The "Festival Band" was such a huge success; thus it was decided to do it again at the 2009 Festival on May 2, 2009. We are delighted that Elisabeth Heath Charles has agreed to be the conductor.
